Updating to your brewery listing

Send an email to droberts@alabamabrewers.org. We are working on an in-app or admin website for you to manage your own listing, but it may not be available for some time.

General Standards

  • Free the Hops and the Alabama Brewers Guild reserve the right to remove any content at its discretion
  • No content may be objectionable, immodest, sensual, contain profanity or offensive language
  • No content may include alcoholic beverages that are not approved to be sold in Alabama
  • No visual content may include any person consuming alcoholic beverages
  • No content may appear designed to appeal to minors
  • No content may offer prizes or discounts

Brewery Listing Standards

  • Place Name
    • Must be a legal name or DBA of the company used for marketing
    • The word “Company” must be abbreviated to “Co”
  • Place Categories (Brewery, Tasting Room, etc)
    • Brewery: Must have a brewers notice, an Alabama ABC manufacturer or brewpub license, and must have beer for sale on the premises
    • Distillery: Must have a DSP, an Alabama ABC manufacturer license, and must have spirits for sale on the premises
    • Winery: Must have a TTB permit, an Alabama ABC manufacturer license, and must have wine for sale on the premises
    • A place cannot have the “Tasting Room” and “Open Bar” category at the same time
    • Tasting Room: Must only serve alcohol that is produced on site (typically any manufacturer)
    • Open Bar: Must regularly serve alcohol that is not produced on site (requires an ABC Brewpub License)
    • Restaurant: Must have a full kitchen that regularly serves meals to patrons
  • Featured Image (Image shown in the list and the first image in the gallery)
    • Photographs with limited editing only
    • No superimposed lettering or other information
    • Must be a photo taken at the brewery
    • We recommend that it showcase the atmosphere of your location
    • The image will be cropped and resized to a 16:9 landscape ratio
  • Gallery images (Other images in the gallery in the brewery detail screen)
    • Photographs with limited editing only
    • No superimposed lettering or other information
    • All images will be cropped and resized to a 16:9 landscape ratio
  • Description
    • Must be limited to 280 characters
    • Must be written in the third person
    • May only have the following styling: paragraph breaks, bold, italic, underline.
    • No links or other styling
  • Open Hours
    • Hours are automatically pulled from the place’s Google listing every 12 hours
  • Address and coordinates
    • Address must be a physical address capable of delivering driving directions from Google Maps or Apple Maps
    • The coordinates are generated from the physical address with Google Geocoding
  • Web, contact and Social Media Links
    • All web an social media links must be for the company (no personal accounts)
    • Website links must be a company domain
    • Facebook must be a page for the place
    • Instagram must be an account for the place
    • Twitter must be an account for the place
    • Untappd must be the place’s page
    • Youtube must be the place’s channel/account
    • Phone numbers must be a business phone number
    • Emails must be a business email address
